Is FOXO4-DRI FDA-approved?
Not approved by the FDA. Products sold online as "research chemicals" aren't checked for purity, sterility or dose.
Overview
Senescent cells stop dividing but don't die, and they release inflammatory signals linked to aging. In a 2017 study, FOXO4-DRI cleared these cells in fast-aging and naturally old mice. It has never been tested in people, so its safety in humans is unknown.
How it works
In senescent cells, FOXO4 holds p53 in the nucleus, keeping the cell alive. FOXO4-DRI breaks that grip, freeing p53 to trigger the cell's self-destruct program.
How long does FOXO4-DRI stay in the body?
Not established in people.
What it's studied for
- Senescent cell clearance
- Aging (mice)
- Age-related testosterone decline (mice)
