Overview

Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein found in almost every cell. It helps cells move into wounds. The full-length protein has been tested in small human trials for dry eye and slow-healing skin wounds, with modest results. "TB-500" sold online may be the full protein or a short fragment, and neither has proven benefits for sports injuries.

How it works

It binds actin, part of the cell's internal skeleton, which helps cells migrate. It also seems to calm inflammation and support new blood vessel growth.

How long does TB-500 stay in the body?

Not established for injected TB-500.

What it's studied for

Related: BPC-157, GHK-Cu, ARA-290 (Cibinetide), Semax. Compare: BPC-157 vs TB-500.
