Is selank FDA-approved?

Approved in Russia. Not approved by the FDA. Products sold online as "research chemicals" aren't checked for purity, sterility or dose.

Overview

Selank is a lab-made version of tuftsin, a small immune peptide, with an added tail for stability. In Russia it's used for generalized anxiety. Small Russian trials reported it reduced anxiety and, added to a benzodiazepine, lowered that drug's side effects. Independent studies are lacking.

How it works

Animal studies suggest it affects GABA signaling (the same system benzodiazepines target), serotonin and immune messengers.

How long does selank stay in the body?

Minutes in the blood.

What it's studied for

Related: Semax, Cerebrolysin, ARA-290 (Cibinetide), Dihexa.
